Jesus Is Close to the Brokenhearted
“He heals the brokenhearted
and binds up their wounds.”
— Psalm 147:3
Some days, the weight of your story feels like too much.
You might carry memories you don’t talk about—abuse, betrayal, rejection, words that still echo in your mind. You keep going, you show up, you smile when you need to, but inside you feel cracked in places no one can see.
If that’s you, hear this in the deepest part of your heart:
You are not too broken for Jesus.

There is no wound too deep for His love. No story too dark for His light. No past too messy for His mercy.
He Sees What Others Overlook
Maybe you’ve heard things like:
- “You should be over that by now.”
- “It wasn’t that bad.”
- “Other people have it worse.”
Those words can make you feel weak, dramatic, or ashamed for still hurting.
But Jesus never shames you for your wounds.
He sees the tears you cried in secret.
He knows the nights you felt alone, even when people were around you.
He understands the conflict of loving God and still feeling broken inside.
Psalm 147:3 doesn’t say He ignores the brokenhearted.
It doesn’t say He rushes the brokenhearted.
It says He heals and binds up their wounds.
Healing is gentle. Healing takes time. And Jesus walks with you through every step.
Your Brokenness Is Not Your Identity
The enemy loves to whisper labels over your life:
- “Too much.”
- “Too needy.”
- “Too emotional.”
- “Too broken.”
But Jesus calls you by a different name.
In Him, you are:
- Daughter — fully loved and welcomed (2 Corinthians 6:18).
- Chosen — set apart with purpose (1 Peter 2:9).
- Deeply loved — with an everlasting love (Jeremiah 31:3).
- Made new — not defined by your past (2 Corinthians 5:17).
What happened to you is part of your story, but it is not the whole story.
Your pain is real—but so is His power to restore.
A Simple Prayer for Today
If you don’t know what to say to God right now, you can pray this:
“Jesus, I feel broken in ways I don’t always have words for.
You see every part of my story.
I give You the pieces of my heart that feel shattered.
Heal what I can’t heal on my own.
Show me that You are near, and teach me how to trust You again.
In Your Name, amen.”
You don’t have to pray perfect prayers.
You just have to be honest—and He meets you there.
A Courageous Step
Today, choose one small, courageous step:
- Write in your journal: “Jesus, this still hurts because…” and let the words come without editing yourself.
- Or tell a safe, trusted person: “I’m not okay right now, and I’d really like someone to pray with me.”
These steps may feel small, but they are powerful. Every step toward healing is a victory.
